Warranty and Fitment Information

Last updated: September 2026

This page explains what our warranty covers, what is normal for 3D printed parts, how to check fitment, and how to make a claim. It applies to products bought from Y Customs Pty Ltd (ABN 26 696 374 320), Unit 11, 70 Scorpius Road, Wattleup WA 6166, Australia, sales@ycustoms.com.au, 0424 148 353.

1. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits given by our warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

2. Our warranty on parts made by Y Customs

Parts designed and made by Y Customs are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months from the date of delivery, for the original purchaser.

Covered:

  • cracking, splitting or delamination in normal use that is not caused by impact, heat, chemicals or incorrect installation
  • structural failure of the part in normal use
  • a dimensional or design error that stops the part fitting the vehicle it is listed for, where a test fit shows the issue before the part is painted or modified
  • parts, hardware or components that are missing, incorrect or damaged on arrival, reported within 3 business days of delivery (see our Refund and Returns Policy)

What we will do: repair or replace the part, or refund the price paid. For a minor failure we choose the remedy. For a major failure you choose between a refund and a replacement. We cover reasonable return postage for confirmed faults on parts that are easy to post, and we arrange collection or assessment for large items.

3. What the warranty does not cover

  • normal wear and tear, scratches, scuffs and marks from use
  • damage from impact, accidents, collisions, stone chips, track or competition use, or off road use
  • exposure to heat beyond the material's limits, including exhaust heat, direct engine heat, heat guns or forced paint drying at high temperature
  • damage from solvents, thinners, fuels, harsh cleaners, adhesives or other chemicals
  • damage caused during installation or removal, including cracking from over tightened fasteners, forcing a part into place, drilling, cutting, trimming, filing or gluing
  • incorrect installation, including inadequate mounting, sealing or wiring, and any issue that results from not test fitting before paint or final fitting
  • painting, priming, filling, sanding or coating work and its results, including paint adhesion, finish quality and any damage to the part from the process
  • modification of the part in any way
  • use on a vehicle other than the one the part is listed for, or use for a purpose the part is not designed for
  • issues caused by the condition of the vehicle, such as warped or damaged dashes, panels, trim or mounting points
  • electrical damage to light kits or electrical products from incorrect wiring, missing fuses, incorrect voltage, or water ingress from poor sealing
  • cosmetic changes to painted or coated parts from weather and sun exposure
  • the cost of installation, removal, labour, paint, freight, vehicle hire or downtime, except where the Australian Consumer Law requires us to compensate you for reasonably foreseeable loss

4. What is normal for 3D printed parts

Our parts are made with industrial FDM 3D printing. These characteristics are normal and are not faults:

  • visible layer lines and a fine surface texture, most noticeable on curved surfaces and under close inspection
  • small seams, support contact marks or minor surface variation on the back, underside or hidden faces of a part
  • light stringing or small blemishes that can be removed with light sanding
  • slight colour or gloss variation between production batches, between different parts in the same order, or between a part and the product photos
  • small dimensional variation within normal manufacturing tolerance that does not affect fitment or function
  • a raw finish intended for preparation and painting, unless the listing states the part is supplied finished

If you want a smooth painted finish, the part will need to be sanded, primed and painted. That is normal for aftermarket body parts and printed parts.

5. Material and care

Most of our parts are printed in carbon fibre reinforced ASA, chosen for its heat and UV resistance, stiffness and durability in automotive use. To keep your part in good condition:

  • clean with mild soap and water and a soft cloth
  • do not use solvents, thinners, petrol or abrasive cleaners
  • keep the part away from exhausts, direct engine heat and heat guns
  • do not use an oven, heat gun or other heat source to reshape a part

Painting: test fit before you paint. Lightly sand, use a plastic primer and follow the paint manufacturer's instructions. Do not force dry paint at high temperature. We do not warrant the results of painting, coating or finishing work.

6. Checking fitment

  • Each product page lists the vehicles a part is designed for, and any exclusions. Check your year, model, trim and any modifications against the listing before you order. If in doubt, message us.
  • Fitment is only guaranteed for the vehicles listed, in factory condition. Modified vehicles, non factory dashes, clusters, bumpers or trim, and vehicles outside the listed years are not guaranteed.
  • Vehicles vary. Minor trimming or adjustment can be needed on some vehicles because of factory tolerances, previous repairs or aftermarket parts, and this is normal for aftermarket body parts. A part that cannot be fitted to a listed vehicle with reasonable adjustment is covered.
  • Test fit every part before painting, cutting, drilling or permanently fitting it. Once a part has been painted, cut, drilled, glued or fitted, it cannot be returned for change of mind, and fitment issues that a test fit would have shown are not covered.

7. Installation and safety

  • We recommend professional installation. You are responsible for the correct installation of anything you fit yourself.
  • Check clearances before final fitting. Do not mount pods, gauges, screens or accessories where they could interfere with airbag deployment areas, your view of the road, vehicle controls, pedals or seat belts.
  • Electrical products, including light kits, should be installed by a qualified auto electrician using correct wiring, fusing and connectors, and sealed against water.
  • Wings, splitters, lips and other exterior parts must be mounted securely using suitable hardware and sealant. Check mounting and fasteners regularly, especially after high speed or rough road driving.
  • Do not use adhesives, sealants or fasteners that are not suitable for the part or the vehicle. Check compatibility before use.

8. Road legality and insurance

Fitting aftermarket parts can affect a vehicle's compliance with Australian Design Rules, state or territory vehicle standards, lighting rules and your insurance policy. Some products, including certain lighting and aero products, may be suitable for show or off road use only. We do not represent that any product is legal for road use unless the product page says so. It is your responsibility to check with your state transport authority and your insurer before fitting a product, and to use it lawfully.

9. Products made by other manufacturers

Products we resell that are made by other manufacturers, such as gauges or electronics, are covered by the manufacturer's warranty on the manufacturer's terms, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. We will help you lodge a claim with the manufacturer, and we remain responsible under the Australian Consumer Law for the products we sell.

10. How to make a claim

  1. Stop using or fitting the part.
  2. Email sales@ycustoms.com.au with your order number, a description of the problem, when you noticed it, and clear photos or video of the fault and the whole part. For fitment issues, include photos of the part on the vehicle.
  3. We will reply as soon as we can, usually within 2 business days, and tell you whether we can assess the claim from your photos and video or need the part back.
  4. If we need the part back and it is easy to post, send it by tracked post. If the fault is confirmed, we reimburse reasonable postage. For large items we arrange collection or assessment.
  5. We aim to assess claims within 10 business days of receiving the part or the information we need, and we will tell you the outcome and the remedy.
  6. If no fault is found, or the issue is not covered, we will explain why. You can have the part returned at your cost, or we can quote a repair or replacement.

Warranty claims must be made within the 12 month warranty period. Claims under the Australian Consumer Law can be made within a reasonable time of a fault appearing.
